Medicare Reimbursement: Revenue Code 0815

As a reminder, Revenue Code 0819 retired at the end of 2016. As of January 1, 2017 transplant centers must use Revenue Code 0815 in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Please use Revenue Code 0815 to report all charges for allogeneic donor search and cell acquisition costs. Beginning January 1, 2017, CMS requires all allogeneic transplant claims to include Revenue Code 0815 or they will be returned.

Transplant center-specific Medicare Reimbursement Reports will be available at the BMT Tandem Meetings and will be sent via e-mail in late February. Please contact Alicia Silver at or 763-406-8669 with questions.
